ACHP's Course Schedules for 2008 The Section 106 Essentials The only Section 106 course taught by the federal agency responsible for administering the National Historic Preservation Act’s Section 106 review process, this two day course is designed for those who are new to Section 106 review or those who want a refresher on its basic operation. The course explains the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, which applies any time a federal, federally assisted, or federally approved activity might affect a property listed in or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
ACHP's Advanced Section 106 Seminars for 2008 NEW IN 2008!! Advanced Section 106 Seminar This advanced class is designed for environmental and cultural resources personnel and focuses on the effective management of complex or controversial undertakings that require compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Taught in a smaller, interactive setting, key topics discussed will include how to use consultation to resolve disputes, identifying creative ways to address conflicts between development plans and preservation values, and how to negotiate and prepare agreement documents.
